Mevo
Mevo

Mevo began in 2016 as a product line within Livestream (originally Mogulus). The Mevo camera was launched as a compact, easy-to-use device for live streaming, priced around $299 and featuring wide‑angle, 4K recording designed for simplicity and portability.

Led by Mevo creator Max Haot (also founder of Livestream), Mevo Inc. was incorporated in Delaware in March 2019.

In April 2019, Mevo was spun out from Vimeo/Livestream and became an independent startup, Mevo Inc., headquartered in Brooklyn, with a software engineering team in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine.

In 2019, Mevo reported $4.4M in revenue, selling over 90,000 Mevo Plus cameras, with about 30,000 monthly active streamers. Around half of its investors included Vimeo, and the company was preparing to ship the next-generation Mevo Start product in Spring 2020.

Mevo Start (2020): Released in April 2020. A more affordable, lightweight 1080p HD camera ($299 MSRP) with up to 6-hour battery life, built-in mic, and the ability to connect multiple units for multi-angle streams via the Mevo Multicam app.

Introduced the Mevo Multicam app and Start 3-Pack bundle in October 2021, becoming a portable “broadcast studio-in-a-box” under $1,000. In late 2021, GameChanger (part of Dick’s Sporting Goods) integrated with Mevo Start to enable high-quality youth sports streaming directly to parents’ and fans’ feeds.

Exited. What happened?

In 2023, Logitech officially acquired and integrated Mevo into its Logitech For Creators division (with Mevo Go companion app and Mevo Pro subscription plan).

In March 2024, Logitech launched the Mevo Core—a pro-level 4K live streaming camera with interchangeable Micro Four Thirds lens support, Wi‑Fi 6E, spatial audio, HDMI/NDI/SRT output, and extended 6-hour battery life. It retails for around $999 (body only).
